About

I’m Jen See, a freelance writer based in Santa Barbara, California.
While working for the cycling media, I have interviewed national, world, and Olympic champions from around the world. My writing has appeared online at Bicycling, Cyclingnews, Cycling Illustrated, Podium Cafe, Steephill, and VeloNews, and in print at Mountain Flyer Magazine. I’m a member of the sportswriters’ associations, AIPS and NSSA.
Things I like to write about include anything with bikes, surfing and just about anything involving water, women’s sports, coffee, and books, especially novels.
Interviewing people and learning all about their lives is the best part about being a writer. Sometimes I write short fiction. I also have a Ph.D. in U.S. history, and have published in academic journals with lengthy footnotes. Who doesn’t like lengthy footnotes?
